How we check the rules
PostOpTrip is a travel guide for the days after a procedure abroad. It answers one question: what can I safely do today?
Our rules for the rules
- Published guidance only. Every activity rule comes from a clinic aftercare sheet, a hospital patient leaflet or a medical body such as the FDA, the NHS, the CDC or the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.
- Every rule is linked. The source appears under each rule on the day pages and in full on our sources page.
- Activity limits only. We never give dosing, medication or treatment advice, and we never tell you to ignore your surgeon.
- "Confirm with your surgeon" on every rule. Clinics differ. Your written aftercare comes first.
- Where sources disagree, we say so and lean towards the more cautious timeline.
- Translations follow the English original. The German and Arabic pages are translations of the same rules. The sources are in English.
How the daily picks work
Each city has a list of sights, tours and outings, tagged for effort, sun, water, heat, crowds, alcohol, smoke and food. Each day of a procedure has limits drawn from the sources. A day page shows the activities that fit every limit that day, and two popular ones that do not, with the reason and the day they usually become fine.
How we make money
Tour links to GetYourGuide are affiliate links. Clinics pay us for introductions to patients who ask for quotes, or for a monthly listing. Neither ever changes a rule, a day plan or an activity pick.
