Rules last checked against the cited guidance on 2 November 2026.

Make a dated calendar for your trip

At a glance

How long to stay
5 to 10 days for implant placement or All-on-4; a second trip months later for the final teeth is common
What the rules are about
The first 72 hours bring swelling and some bruising. The rules are about soft, cool food, no smoking or straws, no strenuous exercise and keeping heat away from the wound.
Weather
Long, hot summers (often above 33°C from June to September) and mild winters. Spring and autumn suit a dental trip best.
Getting around
Taxis and the tram connect the old town, Konyaaltı and Lara. Many dental clinics include airport and hotel transfers.

Confirm with your surgeon. These are general activity limits from published aftercare guidance. Your clinic's written instructions always come first, and they may be stricter or looser for your procedure.

Recovery timeline

  1. Day 1

Rest until the anaesthetic wears off. Cool, soft food and lukewarm drinks only. Swelling starts.

  2. Days 2 to 3

Swelling and bruising usually peak within 72 hours. Short, easy outings. Soft food, chew on the other side, no hot drinks or very hot dishes.

  3. Days 4 to 7

Swelling goes down. Normal low-effort sightseeing. Food stays soft and non-spicy until your dentist widens your diet. Stitches usually come out at 7 to 10 days.

  4. Before you fly

There is no universal rule on flying. Sinus lifts and bone grafts change the timing, so the flight date comes from your surgeon.

Antalya tips for recovering patients

  • Boat trips are the big sell in Antalya. Long ones include swimming stops and a buffet lunch, so pick short harbour cruises for the first days.
  • Midday sun is strong from April to October. Plan outdoor sights for early morning or late afternoon.

Questions

Can I go to the beach after dental implants in Antalya?

Usually yes once the first days of swelling are behind you, but not for strenuous swimming in the first week. A day lying in the shade is fine for most people from around day 4. Long boat trips with swimming stops and a buffet lunch are better left for later in the trip.

Can I drink alcohol on a dental holiday?

Not during early recovery. Implant aftercare advises avoiding alcohol at first; ask your surgeon when you can drink again.

What can I eat after dental implants in Antalya?

Soft, lukewarm food chewed on the other side: soups, piyaz, stews, rice and dondurma. Skip crunchy, spicy and very hot food until your dentist widens your diet.
