Dental holiday packing list
Short answer: Clinics provide the treatment and usually the medicines. Pack for the days in between: soft food, gentle cleaning, paperwork and comfortable sightseeing.
Confirm with your surgeon. These are general activity limits from published aftercare guidance. Your clinic's written instructions always come first, and they may be stricter or looser for your procedure.
For your mouth
- A soft or electric toothbrush and non-abrasive toothpaste. Clinics recommend soft brushing, especially around veneers.
- Toothpaste for sensitive teeth. Sensitivity to hot and cold is common after veneers.
- A few soft snacks you know you like: yogurt drinks, oat pouches, instant soup to eat lukewarm.
- No straws needed. After implants, straws are out for the first week.
Paperwork
- Recent X-rays or scans if you have them, and a list of your medicines.
- The written treatment plan, price and guarantee from the clinic.
- Travel insurance details. Ask whether it covers complications from planned treatment.
For the trip
- A cold pack or a reusable ice bag for swelling in the first 72 hours.
- A sun hat and sunscreen: Antalya, Tijuana, Bangkok and Cancún are sunny most of the year.
- A flexible return ticket, so the flight fits your last check-up.
