When can I sit and fly after a BBL?
Short answer: Many surgeons allow no sitting on your buttocks for the first 10 to 14 days, except on the toilet and to eat. After that, sit only on a BBL pillow behind your thighs and keep each sit short for about six weeks. Flying usually waits at least one to two weeks, longer for long-haul.
Confirm with your surgeon. These are general activity limits from published aftercare guidance. Your clinic's written instructions always come first, and they may be stricter or looser for your procedure.
Sitting, week by week

Cars and taxis
- Clinics often advise lying on your stomach across the back seat for the first trips.
- Keep journeys short in the first week, and stop to stand on longer ones.
The flight home
- Most surgeons want at least one to two weeks before you fly, longer for long-haul.
- Take a BBL pillow, book an aisle seat, stand and walk about every hour, and drink water.
- Seek emergency care for one-sided leg swelling, chest pain or sudden breathlessness.

Can I use a donut pillow after a BBL?
It is generally discouraged. A BBL pillow works by putting your weight on your thighs while the buttocks stay free behind the cushion.
Can I sit on the toilet after a BBL?
Usually yes, briefly, from the start: it is the exception most surgeons build into the no-sitting rule.
