Bangkok after veneers: what to eat and do
Veneers in Bangkok leave the temples, malls and river boats open to you. The few things to plan around are hard street snacks, iced drinks while your teeth are sensitive, and grilled skewers.
Make a dated calendar for your trip
At a glance
- How long to stay
- 5 to 8 days: preparation and temporaries in the first visit, final fitting a few days later
- What the rules are about
- Veneers have almost no downtime. The rules are about your teeth, not your body: soft food while numb, care with hot and cold, and never biting straight into hard food.
- Weather
- Hot all year: 30 to 35°C, very humid, with a rainy season from about May to October.
- Getting around
- The BTS Skytrain and MRT are air-conditioned and easy. River express boats and ride apps fill the gaps. Avoid long walks in midday heat.
Confirm with your surgeon. These are general activity limits from published aftercare guidance. Your clinic's written instructions always come first, and they may be stricter or looser for your procedure.
Recovery timeline
- Day 1
Teeth are prepared and temporaries fitted. Wait until the numbness wears off before eating.
- Days 2 to 5
You live with temporaries. They are fragile by design: no biting into hard food, no sticky sweets, and care with snorkel mouthpieces.
- Final fitting
Usually around days 5 to 7. Sensitivity to hot and cold is common for a few days afterwards.
- For life
Cut up hard or crunchy food and chew with your back teeth. Ask your dentist about a night guard if you grind.

Bangkok tips for recovering patients
- Heat and humidity make swelling feel worse. Plan outdoor sights before 10 a.m. or after 4 p.m.
- Thai food can be ordered mild: say "mai phet" (not spicy).

Questions
Can I eat street food in Bangkok with new veneers?
Most of it. Noodle soups, curries, rice dishes and mango sticky rice are easy. Pull meat off grilled skewers instead of biting it, and skip very hard snacks.
Are iced drinks a problem after veneers?
Teeth are often sensitive to cold for a few days after fitting. Sip iced drinks slowly or let them warm a little.
