Make a dated calendar for your trip

At a glance

How long to stay
7 to 14 days: most teams want to see you at the first wound check, commonly one to two weeks after surgery
What the rules are about
Expect soreness and swelling for two to three weeks. The rules are about not lifting or reaching overhead, wearing the support bra, no baths or hot tubs, sleeping inclined on your back and staying near the clinic until your wound check.
Weather
Hot all year: 30 to 35°C, very humid, with a rainy season from about May to October.
Getting around
The BTS Skytrain and MRT are air-conditioned and easy. River express boats and ride apps fill the gaps. Avoid long walks in midday heat.

Confirm with your surgeon. These are general activity limits from published aftercare guidance. Your clinic's written instructions always come first, and they may be stricter or looser for your procedure.

Recovery timeline

  1. Days 1 to 3

The chest feels stiff and sore for two to five days. Rest, take short walks, sleep inclined on your back and keep the support bra on.

  2. Days 4 to 7

Pain usually eases within a few days. Gentle sightseeing is fine, but nothing lifted above your head and no straining.

  3. Days 8 to 10

The first wound check. Stitches come out after one to two weeks unless they dissolve. Ask about flying.

  4. Weeks 2 to 6

No heavy lifting or strenuous exercise for at least a month. Most people are back to normal activities around six weeks.

Bangkok tips for recovering patients

  • Heat and humidity make swelling feel worse. Plan outdoor sights before 10 a.m. or after 4 p.m.
  • Thai food can be ordered mild: say "mai phet" (not spicy).
  • Temples ask for covered shoulders and knees.

Questions

Is Bangkok too hot after breast augmentation?

The heat makes the support bra and swelling less comfortable. Plan outings for the morning or evening and spend midday in air-conditioned malls or museums.

Can I get a Thai massage after breast augmentation?

Ask your surgeon first. Pressure on the chest and arm stretches are not a good idea while you cannot lift your arms overhead.
