Antalya after a hair transplant: a day-by-day guide

Antalya is all beaches and sun, which are exactly what new grafts must avoid. Here is how to fill each day with shaded, dry and calm things to do while the crusts fall away.

Rules last checked against the cited guidance on 2 November 2026.

Make a dated calendar for your trip

At a glance

How long to stay
3 to 5 days in the city is typical; many patients stay 7 to 10 to see the crusts through
What the rules are about
Grafts are fragile for the first 7 to 10 days. The rules are about keeping the scalp out of the sun, dry except for the clinic's washing method, cool and untouched.
Weather
Long, hot summers (often above 33°C from June to September) and mild winters. Spring and autumn suit a dental trip best.
Getting around
Taxis and the tram connect the old town, Konyaaltı and Lara. Many dental clinics include airport and hotel transfers.

Confirm with your surgeon. These are general activity limits from published aftercare guidance. Your clinic's written instructions always come first, and they may be stricter or looser for your procedure.

Recovery timeline

  1. Days 1 to 3

Clinic check and first wash. Swelling of the forehead often builds and may reach the eyes. No sun on the scalp, no hat pressing on grafts, no sweating, no bending far forward.

  2. Days 4 to 7

Swelling settles. Light sightseeing with breaks, in shade, with a loose clean hat only if your clinic allows it. Still no swimming, steam or exercise.

  3. Days 8 to 10

Crusts loosen and fall away with washing. Longer outings are fine but the scalp stays out of direct sun, water and heat for weeks yet.

  4. After you fly home

Clinics commonly ask for 2 weeks without exercise, a month without swimming or sauna, and months of careful sun protection. Your own aftercare sheet sets the exact dates.

What to do each day

  1. Most clinics see you the morning after for a check and the first wash, done by the clinic team. Grafts are at their most fragile today. Keep it short: a slow walk near the hotel and one indoor sight by taxi is plenty.

Good picks: Old harbour sightseeing cruise · Antalya Aquarium · Antalya Museum

Day 1 in detail: rules, 4 safe activities, 2 to skip, where to eat

  2. Swelling often starts to show on the forehead between days 2 and 4. Sleep semi-upright as your clinic advised. Washing at the hotel usually starts now, using the clinic's exact method. Plan indoor, seated sights.

Antalya tips for recovering patients

  • Boat trips are the big sell in Antalya. Long ones include swimming stops and a buffet lunch, so pick short harbour cruises for the first days.
  • Midday sun is strong from April to October. Plan outdoor sights for early morning or late afternoon.

Questions

Can I go to the beach in Antalya after a hair transplant?

Not into the sun or the sea. Direct sun on the scalp and swimming are out for the first weeks. A shaded clifftop park or a short harbour cruise in the cabin are the safe ways to see the coast.

Is Antalya too hot for hair transplant recovery?

From June to September it often tops 33°C, which makes it hard to avoid sweating. Spring and autumn are easier months for a hair transplant trip.
